Description
A post partum blue and a solar eclipse inspired this surreal landscape. Painted during the confines of motherhood, sleepless nights and cries for mommy, this painting has a rainbow curtain, curious creatures like a transparent lizard and a hidden dragon that highlight the beauty of the fruits of motherhood, childlike wonder. It is around this time I moved to Hamilton, and with the constant buzz of our beloved Lancaster, it has made its way into the painting as well. My signature is embedded on a rock while fireflies light up the darkened ground. I hope viewers will revisit their inner child, and find a sense of calm curiosity. Acrylic paints are my favourite, you can mix any colour you want, blend them, layer them, and they dry fast too. Surrealism allows me to be free, there are no correct interpretations, only more questions. All four edges are painted, requires no framing, complete with hanging wire, it is ready for your enjoyment and ships in a box.
