I’m illustrating a children’s book!

For 2 decades every 4 months, someone new suggests I should illustrate a children’s book. I always avoided the idea knowingly it could be a good fit for me. Finally an offer came I could not refuse and about a story I strongly care about that aligns with my mission as an artist! Expectations are high, my own included. I told myself to just do it and start EARLY so I have lots of time to edit, improve and tweak. It’s a new way of working for me, a narrative project, brings me back to my art school, zine and book making days, but also having to negotiate how things look and how they are written with the author and the publisher, is new to me.
